MOON TWP. — He’s soft-spoken, quiet, attuned to the plight of others.

So much so that it’s disarming coming from one so young.

He’s humble, too, and didn’t seek acknowledgment for what he’s doing to help those affected by food insufficiency or unemployment that’s resulted in lost or reduced income during recent novel coronavirus.

Marissa Kachur, a friend and neighbor, called him “a real light in the world at such a young age.”

His deeds, she said, are something “we need to read about to remind us that there is still good in the world.”

Theodore “Teddy” Tolliver turned 15 on May 20.

But instead of asking for or accepting gifts for himself, he’s blessing others. He raised approximately $1,900 in less than two weeks for his “essential bags” project.

Teddy Tolliver, 15, of Moon Township, plans to continue making essential bags for those in need. If you’d like to donate to the project, checks can be made payable to Theodore Tolliver and mailed to Riverdale Presbyterian Church, 1555 Brodhead Road, Moon Township, PA 15108. In the check’s memo line, note “essential bags.”
